Bothour is a legendary hunter among his fellow goblins, stalking demons and beasts alike. His armor is crafted from the hides, furs, scales and bones of his prey. I sculpted this guy in Zbrush. Starting with Dynamesh for the body, then extracting the elements of the costume that I could like the pants and the shin wraps. Next I built the armor pieces with the Zmodeler brush. The skull was also created with dynamesh, while the horns started from primitives with custom initialize settings. The dragon scale armor around his waist utilized Nanomesh and a scale I created separately. I retopologized him in Zbrush with a mix of Zsphere Topology, the Topology Brush and the Zmodeler brush. His UVs were started in Zbrush and then refined in Maya. The textures are all hand painted in Zbrush and refined in Photoshop. I used Maya Paint Effects and Photoshop to create the alphas for the fur cards. Finally it was rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
